Fun times

It's been a while since I updated.  Woops we have been busy! SO I'm going to give a recap.
December 8th I had a Junior League social at this neat wine bar off Rayford Sawdust.  It was fun mingling and enjoying wine with friends.  Here are some snapshots from that night:

Me and Jennifer

The Boys!  I wish you would have seen this pic before I asked Brandon to "squat down"  He is so tall especially standing next to Archie and Jason.  I wish I was tall :( The VanSickle boys are sure to be Superb athletes with their parents height.

The Ladies

This Is Archie holding Lucas Whitaker.  We had dinner at The Nances and for the first time Archie was willing to hold the baby AND fed him.  Yes this is a milestone.  I'm working on him....

Then Thursday Dec 17th Natalie had her second Annual Naughty & Nice Christmas party.  The Naughty part is because we have a Panty exchange and play the white elephant game.  The nice part is we all bring an unwrapped gift to donate.  It was a great time!  I remember pointing out that last year at the party Allison was pregnant and no one had babies.  This year Four girls have babies and two are pregnant.  Times are changing :)

Tiffany, Jenn, Erin

Good times

Friday Dec 18th I decided to have a Birthday party for all our friends that have Decmber Birthdays, including Archie.  I cooked a Big Yummy Gumbo with Potato salad.  I think it came out great except I cooked way too much!  Here are some pics from that night.

The Birthday Boys and Girls

Blowing out their candles

Archie biting into a brownie bite that i cooked too long.  Had to toss em

My Birthday boy!  And yes I did dye my hair darker this time and I have not yet decided if I like it yet...

Today (Sunday) I decided to take down the Christmas decorations.  I know its too early but I just felt like it.  We wont be here for Christmas and Archie was here willing to help me put it all back in the attic so I took advantage of the time.  Im kinda a scrooge this year but really for no particular reason.  So we opened our stockings which that was nice.  Mainly so i dont have to keep putting my gift back in my stocking since i have secretly been using the lipgloss Santa put in there for me :)  Archie liked the things Milo and Scooter bought for him too.  I am really looking forward to these next two weeks off.  Wednesday we leave for Lake Charles and come back Sunday.  Saturday the day after Christmas I am helping my mom throw an engagement party for my Best Friend Tiffany In LC and I can not wait to see her to congratulate her in Person.  I am so happy for her and love her like a sister.  I pray one day we will live close enough to visit all the time.  So I guess thats it for now!  Hope everyone is great.  Merry Christmas!  much Love

Pergola and snow

Archie has been Hard at work Building a Pergola.  Its a trellace type thing over our back porch.  Remodeling our back porch is our Christmas present to each other this year.  The Pergola is the first part then we are going to put slate over the concrete and Archie has started on a Garden for me.  The Garden is the thing I am most Excited about!  I can't wait to grow more of my own veggies and etc.  Spinach, Tomatoes, onions, broccoli, So many options!  I already have a good amount of my own herbs growing but i would love to have more.  I really do enjoy spending time out there and look forward to the new look.  Below are some Pics of Archie working on his project.  I still have to stain the wood but here is phase one.

Putting in the last boards.

And then it snowed today in Houston.  And while I was working I decided to take some picture at some of my offices and around town.

gas station as I wait at a red light

And as you can see the snow really did not stick too well in Spring.  This is a Pic of our house.  It was fun though driving in it!  The snow was much better downtown.  I was hoping to snuggle up with my honey and some hot chocolate this evening but once again he went hunting.  Did I mention how I am SO Over this hunting season???!!!  I'm Beginning to think Milo and Scooter don't even remember who their daddy is!  Just kidding!  Kinda :).  Hope everyone is well.  Much Love!

11/20-28 Week in Review

Friday Nov 20 me and some Girlfriends went to see New Moon.  Had dinner and drinks first then off to the show.  We had a great time and I hope we can do this again soon!  I must say I was disappointed in the movie though.  Next time I won't re-read the book right before seeing the movie.

Judith stayed with us Friday night then rode with Archie and I to Jaime Louvieres wedding at The Richmond House on Saturday.  It was a beautiful wedding and of course a good time!  Congrats to Jaime and Dave!

Loved the Chinese Lanterns!  Added such a good feel.

These boys (which are all cousins i think) were taking a picture on this ledge.  It was so cute!  Then Archie wanted to fit in so he sat in and then offered them a bruski.  I didnt catch it but they were making such cute funny faces when he did it.

Went to Lake Charles for Thanksgiving.  I convinced my brother to come out with me (Archie Hunted all weekend at my dads camp).  Although Kam was stuck with Me, Kristi, Murphy, & Judith I think he had an OK time.

This Picture tells me that this is when I SHOULD have gone home.  But Instead we headed elsewhere..

This year I am Thankful for my wonderful husband and wonderful Family. This year has been QUITE a rollercoaster for us so I hope next year will be a little more smooth sailing.  Yeah right!  Who am I kidding!  But I love it!  Hope all is well with everyone.  Much Love

This & That

Sorry I havent updated but it's been a wierd week so far.  Archie came home from hunting with a sprang shoulder and neck (more like sprang body) and has been in and out the doctor. Unfortunately It's not from Hauling a huge Buck out of the woods.  While Archie was away I put all the Fall decor up in the attic and hauled the Christmas decor down from the attic.  All except the big tree, which I was leaving for Archie to get down because I could not do it by myself but now it looks like it will stay in the attic since he's hurt.  So I guess I will just decorate our small tree this year, which is ok with me.  Less cleanup!  I was flipping through a magazine and saw cute decorations that I tried to copy.  I hung big Ornament balls from our living room curtains and I think I like it.  It didnt come out like I had imagined but its fine just the same.  I also Decided to do some "arrangements" if that's what you want to call them.  My mom approved of the pics I sent her and since I love her taste They will stay up!  Here is my attempt at Being Crafty:

Yesterday we had dinner with Karlee, Nathan, and their new baby Lucas.  He is such a cutie and such a good baby so far.  Karlee looks great and is doing such a good job as a new Mommy!  Lucas was sleeping when we got there and I could not wait until he woke up so that I could hold him.  He is so very cute I can't wait to visit again!  Here is a pic Lucas, notice he is sleeping because I was impatient :)

And Lastly since I don't have a cute baby like Lucas to dress up I decided it was time to dye Milo and Scooters mohawk again.  And in the Spirit of The LSU tigers I went with Purple this time.

Hopefully this weekend is better than last.  Friday is dinner with Girlfriends then off to see New Moon.  I am counting down and almost finished re-reading New Moon as a nice refresher.  Then Saturday we are going to our good friend Jaime L's wedding at the Richmond house.  I'm looking forward to the wedding and sharing that day with Mr & Mrs David Gautreaux.  Good times!  Hope is well with everyone!  Love!

Sneaky Scooter....

Well once again I caught Scooter Devouring Milos food.  I put two food bowls down every morning and night.  Scooter seems to think if Milo is not Hungry right then, as soon as I put their food down, its his for the taking.  Maybe I should not be feeding them twice a day anymore?  I dont have the time or Patience to make sure Scoot doesn't eat Milos food so what do I do??

Archie is out of town AGAIN hunting and I stayed here because I am working the Childrens Festival tomorrow at The Woodlnds Pavillion. I am ready for hunting season to be done with.  But that just means it's time to Start working 7 days a week and open Hebert's Hot Tails.  We are hoping to open In January.  Depends on How this winter goes (WHAT WINTER?).  I think Archie is suppose to give the farmer a call this weeke to see what he thinks.  I am actually looking forward to opening the Hut again and I Pray that this season will be a huge success.  I am counting on all our friends to help us spread the word when the time comes :).  Well Guess I will get back to watching LSU embarass themselves while playing La Tech...  Seriously?  What are they doing???
BTW I updated my Blog settings and now I can't figure out how to Spell Check?  Help please. Love

Farm at The Hebert's

SERIOUSLY!!!!!!  I swear I live next to a farm!  SO if you know us and you have been to our house you know what I mean.  Many times the chickens and roosters from the yard behind us have hopped the fence and hung out in our back yard.  They walk around like they own the place.  Last Monday I was letting the dogs out in the rain and a skunk ran across our backyard.  So roosters, chickens, a skunk and Now A HUGE possum!  I let the dogs out and they started barking like crazy so I yelled at Arch to go see what was going on and he yells at me to get the camera because there is a Huge possum perched on our fence checking us out.  Of course I didn't get the camera in time.  No But seriously what is going on?  I live in the city people! This has got to stop.  I keep visioning that some crazy animal is going to come attack my boys and That i just could not handle!

Getting ready

We our having our second Halloween Party this weekend. This year we decided to pick a theme: Famous Couples. Which I thought would be easy and cheap but making the decision of who Archie and I would be was difficult! I'm not gonna tell you what we picked, you will have to wait and see the pics but we Almost dressed up as Ellen and Portia. That would have been hilarious but i couldn't figure out how to dress up as Portia. Anyways I seriously need to get in gear and do some decorating! Hello the party is Saturday. Who is gonna win Best dressed couple??? Can't wait to see what everyone is coming as!

Totally taking it that far...

Well I thought I wouldn't take the book Skinny Bitch and become a vegetarian but I am so taking it that far. ALERT: If You LOVE LOVE LOVE meat then do not read this book! Because you will never want to eat it again! Giving up meat really should not be that hard for me because I already don't eat red meat or pork but now I'm cutting it all out including chicken. I think whats going to be hard for me is cutting out the dairy part. I love eggs for breakfast :(. Already lactose intolerant though so I have not had milk in three years. (well maybe in some food) but not a glass, only if it was used to cook something. I went on my first Organic / Vegan grocery shopping trip today at HEB Central Market in the Woodlands and to my surprise they are Stocked with stuff! So Kudos to them. Wish we had a Whole Foods up here though! I know this is a drastic lifestyle change but hopefully I will have support from my friends and family. Archie is supporting me as long as I don't take the meat away from him, which I would never do! After reading what is in our meat and what our HORRIBLE government allows to go on at Slaughter houses is DISGUSTING! Mortifying! Inhumane and unsanitary. If you are curious go to www.goveg.com and look at the video. Look with Caution!
On another note GEAUX TIGERS! Hope we bring our "A" game to the field on Saturday and Stomp on Auburn! Back to LC again, Archie hunting and I will hang out with my mom. This will be our last weekend until Thanksgiving.

Scrambled

So I have not posted in a while because not much is going on here! We were in LC this past weekend so that Arch could go Hunting at his camp. He did not kill anything but The game is on, when I say game I mean the competition between Archie and My dad to see who kills the most deer. SO Far the score is Don: 2 Archie: 0. They love to rag on each other about this! So competitive these two! I just love that they have such a close relationship. Hopefully Archie will have something to brag about after this weekend. We are going back this weekend and I am still undecided if I am going to Baton Rouge...... I kinda want to stay and watch the game in Lake Charles. What I should be doing is getting things ready for our Halloween party but for some reason I am not even thinking about it yet. Who Knows we shall see!
While Archie was hunting I did hang out with my girlfriends and that was fun! I did enjoy hanging out with My cousin Stacey's children. Reeves (the Baby) is getting the cutest personality! SO So cute, almost make me consider....... HA! He just smiles and crinkles his nose and it just makes me laugh.
Oh and I am on my fourth week of P90X (I see no change) and I bought the book Skinny B***h. Its really eye opening! Archie thinks I am becoming obsessed with this whole thing and maybe I am. I hear after reading that book everyone turns into a Vegan. I don't think I would take it that far......
I cant wait until Wednesday when I get to take Suz and Brandon dinner which means I get to see the twins! Hope they are in the mood for Gumbo! Well this blog is all over the place! until next time!
